2. Purpose of Tachograph File Processing

By using our conversion and analysis tool, we process data for the following purposes:

  • Format Conversion: Transforming binary files (.DDD / .TGD) into readable reports (PDF / Excel).
  • Regulatory Analysis: Calculating driving and rest times in accordance with Regulation (EC) 561/2006.
  • Allowance Calculation: Processing activity records for the economic management of travel expenses.
  • Storage (Tacho Storage): Legal custody of files in accordance with current regulations if requested by the user.

3. Types of Data Processed

Tachograph files may contain:

  • Driver's first and last name.
  • Driver card number and ID (DNI/NIE/Passport).
  • Activity records (driving, rest, work).
  • Linked vehicle license plates.
  • GPS coordinates (in new generation smart tachographs).

4. Security and Confidentiality

TachoTools implements technical and organizational security measures to prevent loss, misuse, or unauthorized access to data:

  • SSL Encryption: All file uploads are performed through secure encrypted connections.
  • Automatic Deletion: If you use the free converter without registration, files are deleted from our temporary servers immediately after processing.
  • Data Center: Our servers are located within European territory (EU), strictly complying with the GDPR.

5. Legal Basis

The legal basis for processing your data is the execution of a contract (provision of the analysis service) and the user's consent when uploading their files to the platform.

6. User Rights (ARCO)

You have the right to access, rectify, delete your data, or limit its processing by sending an email to info@tachotools.com, accompanied by a copy of your ID. You also have the right to file a claim with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
